Ukraine's First 'Smart Bus Station' Launched

The company 'Ukrpas' has developed and implemented a national-level bus station solution at the Central Bus Station in Kyiv.
This was reported by 'Ukrpas' owner Oleg Mishchenko to Forbes Ukraine.
According to preliminary estimates, the system will help the Ukrainian budget by over 1 billion UAH per year and bring 60% of the bus transport market out of the shadow economy.
'The bus station solution at the Central Bus Station in Kyiv is a pilot project designed to minimize human intervention in the operation of the bus terminal. This reduces corruption risks to a minimum and allows carriers to operate transparently while providing passengers with a comfortable travel experience,' said Oleg Mishchenko.
According to him, the bus station solution includes closed terminal areas for passenger safety, automatic gate systems that recognize bus numbers to control the legality of transporters, turnstiles that scan ticket QR codes, automated counting of bus entry fees, and personal accounts for both transporters and passengers.

Additionally, there are plans to create a financial institution necessary to handle payments with carriers and implement a loyalty program that will provide competitive advantages for transporters. One of the new features will be the option for passengers to travel anywhere in the world through the bus station’s ticket counters.
'Now, the ticket counters will offer the option to purchase tickets not only for buses but also for rail and air transport from partner countries,' said Oleg Mishchenko.
The bus station solution is planned to be implemented at 23 more partner bus stations of 'Ukrpas.'
